Studio Woods is an architectural studio focused on renovation and design of houses in the Netherlands.

My name is Joanna Kregiel-Vereecke and I am an architect specialised in renovations of houses and improving their sustainability. I graduated from Heritage & Architecture at TU Delft in 2016 and shortly after I became a certified architect in the Netherlands at BNA (Branchevereniging voor Nederlandse Architectenbureaus).
I strongly believe that a role of an architect does not end with delivering drawings. I am there for my clients all the way until the moment of the very last interior finishings.
After gaining experience in three different architectural offices in Amsterdam, I developed my own way of working and a set of values that I believe in. I put them now into my own practice.

Project phases are:
Phase 1 - Preparation
- measuring of your space on location
- requesting drawings from archives to check its structure
- cost calculation if you wish to receive
Phase 2 - Concept design
- concept 2D drawings incl. furniture and measurements
- 3D visualisations incl. materials
Phase 3 - Technical design
- arranging a structural engineer (in case of the building permit)
- arranging a contractor (if you don't have one)
- technical 2D drawings for your contractor to execute works
- application for the building permit (if your project requires one)
Phase 4 - Supervision
- a certain number of hours on a project location during construction works
- making sure your project goes according to plan

At this stage we explore all materials as well as design options, which best suit your personal preferences and requirements.
Technical design
In the technical design phase drawings of the chosen design are being brought to the next level, so that contractors can work with them effectively.
Building supervision
If you want your supervision to be off your shoulders, let me know.
I am happy to look for a right contractor for your project as well as coordinate works on location.
Cost calculations
It is usually very handy to know in advance how much your project would cost in total. It helps you planning next steps and choose right design options.
Subsidies research
If you are going to improve sustainability of your house, it is good to know what kind of subsidies you could apply for. There are many, for example for insulating a house or for new technical installations.
Application for building permits
Changing or demolishing some parts of your house might require building permit application. That is something that is researched in the concept design phase.
